Great Wolf Lodge

My family really likes Great Wolf, we've gone a handful of times and will go again, and my only problem is the fact that I never want to get in the water because I'm a wimp and I know I'll get cold. On extremely cold days, it's awful. When it's mild outside (45ish) it's tolerable. I think it has to do with the slides that go outside of the building and then return inside.

WOW! I thought for sure they would manage the temperature inside a place like that much better! Good to know. We may hold off until April then. I was planning a trip with friends.

You're putting too much stock in one person's questionable opinion.

We've gone to GWL the last four years the week after Xmas and have been very comfortable in the waterpark.

We went last January and there were no problems with the temperature. We were very comfortable, and I'm very sensitive to cold.

I agree with the recommendations to go mid-week if you can. We did, and I think it would have been FAR less enjoyable if we were there on a crowded weekend.

Also, one night is plenty.

Agree with PP. We went last winter during the snow storm and the temperature was fine. We had a great time. You just need to relax and allow yourself to have fun. Go down the slides, get in the water, enjoy the beer at the park. It will not be fancy, but it can be fun!

I've been there twice in winter. Once was frigid (but the second day was a little better), once was warm enough. I think it may be warmer on weekends when it's more crowded. I don't think they manage the temperature well.

UGGHH. Terrible customer service (you can stand in line for an hour to check in, and it seems like your room is never ready on time). The waterpark always seems dirty to me. Often overcrowded. And bedbugs.

Try the indoor waterpark at Massanutten instead. Cleaner, and less crowded. You can stay on the premises, or not and just pay an admission fee.

I won't go to GWL due to a few reports of bedbugs on the registry website. It's likely not a problem but I'm paranoid and will avoid staying there. I rather go to Massanutten or GWL in PA.
