Actually, it takes a really intelligent kid to accept this. One that can actually think of some creative theories and solutions, other than "I don't know." Its pretty cool listening to all the different theories and explanations my child comes up with, each year more elaborate than the last. Personally, I do not want to be caught in a lie so I like feeding into the "mystery". I am comfortable with my child knowing that I don't always know all the answers, but that I can hypothesize and make educated guesses based on my prior knowledge and experience. Sometimes when we use this train of thought for more real situations, we conclude by investigating information online or in the library, finding a documentary, etc. |
| Don't want to start a whole debate here but I have a 6YO (we are of a different religion and don't do Santa) and I find it impossible to believe that 6 YOs believe there's one Santa who manages to deliver presents to every child on earth in one night? My kid would never buy this in a million years. |
My kid would never buy that a tiny amount of oil would last 8 nights. I mean really PP - if you don't even celebrate the holiday, go the F away and post your opinions about your every-so-intelligent kids and your awesome religion elsewhere. You come off as snarky and jealous. Your kid probably can not stand your boring lives. |
But yet you do because you are a bitch and you know it. But you are a sad and jealous bitch that hates how happy other kids are besides yours. So you try and jab the parents and their "dumb" kids who believe. Hope it made you feel better. |
Maybe, my husband is in Mensa and according to my MIL he believed in Santa until he was almost 9. I think only a simple person would think that there is a correlation. |
+1. I think it is Menorah Mom |
Interesting. We don't believe in any religion, because we believe people who believe in religion are usually less intelligent sheeple. |

Wow, and you call yourself a Christian? Unbelievable. Same goes for the PP. Kind of funny how any questioning of the Santa believers brings out really nasty, name-calling posters. This poster is simply making a statement that probably goes for millions of kids out there. I'm sorry that their belief system is so fragile that no one can question it. |
| Those are Santa's helpers. It sort of ties into other discussions we had over the years about the topic. We made them Santa's helpers by adopting a family at Christmas. When they started questioning the legitimacy of the real Santa, it was an easy transition from the one bearded fellow to millions of people helping each other to make some Christmas magic. We all play Santa for each other. |
One of the PPs here who didn't get what the explanation to an older child would be (and was personally attacked). This explanation makes sense to me as something an older child would accept, although a super inquisitive one might start asking questions about how someone could live at the North Pole if it was so cold, how did the presents get up there, were there stores, etc. |
I am the PP and not Christian and if you believe that a statement with starting a not debate and then goes into how their child could NEVER blah blah. It has nothing to do with a belief system or religion but the fact that certain posters where just like to skewer others with comments that have nothing to do with the question an OP asks. It is demeaning and rude. |
LOL - stop!

Well lady it is not only possible, but it is magical. Sorry yours is missing out. By the way, if you knew a little more about time zones, you would realize Santa doesn't deliver in just one night. He has a lot more time than you think. He also has these incredible elves that work Prep and Landing. They got that $hit down to a science. He is in and out in no time. Throw in magical flying reindeer and Rudolph if there is a storm. It can be done. Oh and one more thing, he isn't giving presents to EVERY child on Earth. Only the ones that believe which means a lot of houses get skipped over. That is a huge time saver and probably helps out us believers in the long run. Merry Christmas!! |
I'm speechless. I love you. |
