Alas, your efforts will be in vain. Bannon does not require Senate approval.

Just so you know.... many of us were not happy with Rahm Emmanuel (chief of staff) or Valerie Jarrett or even John Podesta (under Clinton).
But, because these people are appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the president, the public doesn’t get much say in these positions.

Was anything stopping you from protesting their appointment?

Laziness, chiefly, and the desire to be angry all the time.

thanks for the post OP

OMG. Remember that? The innocent years.

Actually that was used as a cover to withdraw a nomination when really bad things were discovered. See Bernard Kerik.

Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood both went down because of a nanny.

Once again, an attempt at false equivalency.

There are plenty of political reasons to dislike Emmanuel and Jarrett and Podesta. However, these people are not and have never been white supremacists. Bannon is a horse of a completely different color. (No pun intended.)

I am sick to my stomach with his appointment... literally just want to crawl under my bed and every come out but know that now is the time to act but feel very helpless in all this

Please. Say it outright: "I believe it's appropriate that a white supremacist become chief of staff to the President of the United States."

No, he does not need anyone's approval. He can appoint David Duke to be his chief of staff.

Does this mean the president-elect agrees with the ideals of the KKK? Bannon appears to do so.

This is true. Chief Strategist is a position purely at the President's discretion. But you could put pressure on your elected officials to refuse to take meetings with him. This is going to be a non-issue, though, since most of the policy-making and outreach will be carried out by Preibus. Bannon will primarily interact with Trump, I predict.

You can drive Bannon underground, but he's still going to be there and he will have a disturbing amount of influence on Trump. Perhaps if the press had paid more attention to Bannon during the election, then more people might have been deterred from voting for Trump. I'm glad Bannon has a prominent position in the new administration so the American people can see exactly what they're dealing with.

Where is the evidence that he is a white nationalist?

Duke and the Neo Nazi's and Aryan Nation have all applauded this appointment. I wonder why.

If you can't figure it out then you aren't paying attention.
