I'm horrified by Trump but don't understand the OP at all and think that the idea of switching the elector votes at this point is not a good idea as tempting as it is to imagine. It would lead to violence. Everyone knew these were the rules of the road.

The only exception I see is if something came up about Trump between now and 12/19 so obviously disqualifying that there was agreement about on both sides of the aisle, but in that case I would assume the Republican electors would switch to Pence.

The writer did go on to share what he believes is the reason almost as if it is fact. See, he can do that since he prefaced it as he did. In other words, it's the writers opinion.

New PP. I didn't start this thread. There are so many books written about the evolution of Electoral College. The southern states didn't have the WHITE POPULATION to compete with the North in national elections because the blacks cant vote. This would have guaranteed Northern politicians winning the presidential election every time. To prevent this from happening the southern politicians created the Electoral College which includes the Black population without giving them a vote. This is the fundamental reason for the Electoral College. There are variations of this theory but the basic thing is EC is rooted in Racism.

You do realize the electoral college favors the Dems? Usually the Dems only need to pick up one or two states to win it. Many republicans for strategic reasons involved to do away with the college.

Hillary never claimed she will bring back Coal or Manufacturing jobs. Hillary was all about retraining or education needed for those who lost the jobs to get jobs in New energy companies, emerging industries and other service businesses.

It doesn't matter which party it favors. It doesn't favor a voter from CA or NY when compared to a voter from WY or Idaho. A CA voter is literally disenfranchised in this country. Its like 1 WY vote = 4 CA votes. How is it fair for CA when that is the largest state that contributes the most to the country but is essentially powerless. Checkout how skewed the EC is against CA.

No let the loser keep the presidency in 2016 BUT he surely didn't win a mandate as many are claiming. There should atleast be a realization the EC system is anti-democratic by diluting votes from CA, NY etc by significant margin that it alters the result.
