This is me. I'll add that the kids usually do 4 field trips a year at our school. Usually things like the College Park Air and Space Museum, the Natural History Museum, Imagination Stage, etc. Once they went to the pumpkin patch, which was billed as "learning about the life cycle of pumpkins" but was just a fun day out in the fresh air. |

K: One this week and I think there is another in the spring.
2nd: One this week and a second one coming up later this month. Pretty sure they go to the zoo in April. |
| Teacher here. Third grade is the only one in our school who hasn't gone anywhere yet, but they have one coming up before Thanksgiving. I have a kid in K and they went to the pumpkin patch a few weeks ago and are going to see the monuments downtown later this month. |
| 3rd grade: one to Natural History and one coming up |
| 5th grader went on one to Strahmore and 3rd grader is going on one next month to see a play. |
| 3rd grader - Broadway play in NY; a science field trip to NIH to meet with leading research scientists and perform experiments and day trip to Kennedy Center to play music with National Symphony musicians. W School. |
You blew it PP. You always have to sign these -- Beverly Farms |
| OP here. Wow- impressive field trips. I'll have to ask the teachers |
| 3rd grade - None. In a W cluster for whatever that's worth these days. |
| 2nd grade - none so far. W cluster school. |
| New to the area - do the kids in the W schools get to go on better field trips than non-W schools? If so, why? Do the parents subsidize more expensive trips? |
9:25 was kidding. |
Not even outdoor ed? |
Judging by this thread, I'd say non-W schools seem to have less frequent field trips than Focus or Title I schools. Several folks have identified themselves as sending their kids to "W feeders" and said they had zero field trips so far, or only one last year. We're at a high needs school and we have four per year like clockwork. |
| We are starting at W school next year and I expect my kindergartner to have amazing field trips. I'm going to call the school this week and find out what is scheduled for next year. |
