Which party?
If you're sick of the deadlock, vote straight D. If you want to send a message to the Rs that Trump is unacceptable but that you're still an R, split your ticket. That's my thinking. Thank you for taking this seriously, fellow former Republican voter! Good to see there's more of us out there than I thought! |
I honestly don't know. I'm not a democrat and I don't support a lot of the issues they do, but I want to send a message to the party that the base shouldn't rule the roost. That's my current angst I will be debating this weekend. |
States' rights? |
The Rs got hostilely taken over by the Tea Partiers/extremists (which is what this thread is about), and gerrymandered things to badly that now they have a louder voice than ever. |
Not in the civil-rights-era code word dogwhistle sense, but in the sense that states should be allowed to set policies without undue federal meddling. |
|
I have plenty of normally R friends who are just disgusted and fed up this year.
Of course, they fall in that "educated woman" category that is fleeing trump. Some are voting HRC, others third party. But they cannot stomach trump. |
Another liberal here. Of course they can! Especially when they feel completely betrayed by the Democratic party. I'm a liberal. I just choose not to vote for a candidate under FBI investigation. It's kind a thing I have. I don't associate with people who are under criminal investigation. If I found out my hair dresser was under investigation by the FBI I would find a new hairdresser. |
| But how can someone go from being a liberal to supporting trump? That just makes no damn sense. |
NP. I was once in the position that you are in, pp. I voted D. And I have not yet gone back, because the R behavior has only gotten worse, and worse, and worse. Refusing to participate in Obamacare negotiations? Voting to overturn Obamacare 70 times instead of doing their jobs? Stonewalling immigration legislation so Obama can't have a "win"? Refusing to vote on lower court judges and causing bottlenecks in the judicial system? Refusing to vote on a SUPREME COURT nominee? As Republicans and patriots, we cannot stand for this stuff, pp. They have to take governance seriously and come back to planet Earth before they earn our votes again. |
Especially if they are secret racist "liberals"! Then they can be liberals and still whole-heartedly support Trump, like the PPs! Otherwise, yeah, you're right, there's not much reason for anyone who is liberal to vote for Trump. Vote for a 3rd party candidate, though, sure. |
| There was some little dweeb former Bernie supporter on CNN the other day. And everyone else in the segment honestly could not wrap their heads around the shit that was coming out of his mouth. |
Here's an answer for you, fellow "liberal:" |
| I didn't leave the Republican Party. The Republican Party left me. |
Even Clarence Thomas can't even believe what's happening with the Congress. |
