Has anyone been able to DIY elfa?

Unless there's something wonky in your walls (plaster on brick, say), it is really easy to do it. Basic drywall -- get a stud finder and a level and have at it.

I agree with this. I did two small closets by myself and I'm no handyman. If it's drwyall it's like one degree of difficulty greater than hanging art, butmuch more time-consuming.

Since you're installing the top rail along the whole wall, you can just tap a finish nail into the wall every half inch or so until you find a stud. Rail will cover the holes. Other studs will be 16" on either side.

I've probably done six closets and it's never taken longer than 15 minutes to get that top rail up. Agree that it takes as long to peel off all the stickers as it does to hang all the pieces up. And once you've done one closet you can do every subsequent one in a flash.

+1

The hardest part is taking everything out of the closet (and putting the stuff back in). There are some things I don't mind paying for, but Elfa installation is not one of them.

I think it's very easy to install, but OP -- I just got an email that Container Store has free Elfa installation going on now until November 14th with a purchase of at least $750.
