Help - where to buy a suit for a 13 year old boy?

Lord and Taylor has some great early teen suits.

eBay and get it tailored. Anything you buy will have only been worn once or twice.

I agree with eBay.

Do 13 year old boys wear adult sizes? If yes, you could try Burlington Coat Factory. I bought my adult brother a suit there when we had a funeral to attend.

Try Kohl's. We found surprisingly decent suits for our son at that age. And he was outgrowing them every few months.

I was just going to post the same thing! Buy separates. They are more likely to outgrow the slacks faster than the jacket, so you might get a couple more occasions out of the jacket. Stick to navy so that you can match it later with gray or khaki slacks.

Also, ask friends with teenage sons. We all have an outgrown sportcoat or two in the back of our sons' closets.

I bought my son's 5th grade graduation suit from Target. They had a few in the store but most sizes were online. Jacket was $30 or $40 and pants were about $20. It looked great on him and I don't mind that he only wore it once before he outgrew it because it was so inexpensive.

+1. My 8 yo wanted one for his recital and I bought it at Target not knowing if he'd ever wear it again. He has found several occasions and always receives lots of complements. I bought it online with the shirt.

I have a very tall 12yo and went through this last spring for his 6th grade graduation. We spent a frustrating day at Tysons, but wound up doing best at Jos A Bank. Probably not fashion forward, but at least it fit well. Unfortunately we'll have to buy another one this spring for friends' bar mitzvahs, since he has grown at least 3 inches since then!
