Exhibit A, the Lax Insider thread. One of your most popular threads in the private school forum for several year running. You euthanized it when you moved it to the sports forum. If that is the intent (maybe not yours but this persistent delete this thread poster), mission accomplished. The lax threads you moved are practically on life support over there. The end is near. But you can still save them with a click of your mouse. |

| I found the threads informative. When an idiot lacrosse parent went over the cliff, I would simply ignore them and focus on the useful information, of which there was a lot. My family is new to lacrosse and by happenstance my son got into the elite level at a young age. I like to hear from the seasoned parents on what to expect and also about coaches/schools who are good and not good for lacrosse. To remove the threads and put them in a place that few visit because of a few annoyed people is very disappointing. Almost like censoring free speech. Who was it offending? And, for those who were tired of it, just scroll over it. |

It comes down to this...the lax side, and yes we are per se whack jobs, love reading about and discussing lax. We also happen to be mainly private school parents and also club team parents. When it is on the sports forum, it loses energy and eventually ceases to be active. Keeping it here keeps it alive and vibrant. The people (and I think it's actually one person in particular) wants it moved. Perhaps it is one of the people discussed on such threads (and I think Jeff has been great about deleting pure ad hominem attacks). Regardless, it is quite clear that persons goal is to hide these threads. Out of sight. Out of existence. Of course Jeff makes the call. But if it comes down to numbers, or encouraging a sharing of information and opinions and debate, or maximum readership, it's not even a close call. |
