Op here, I work too but do get annual leave and am trying to plan for one week away over the summer.

Yeah, I work too and it's hard to find camp coverage for the end of August, so if we're starting late, I'll use my leave at the end of August --- but I'll be super-pissed if I book stuff for the end of August, and then it turns out MCPS is starting early and I lose deposits. Unfortunately, some stuff has already booked for next August.

I heard they were having a meeting 9/20 to discuss...anyone here an update??

There is something new on WaPo that says they will apply for a waiver..since they are unique is needing to accommodate the Jewish holidays. They are for the time being developing two calendars (or maybe it was three)

Its not as simple as him making a decision. There is a lot more involved to it. I would not make any plans without seeing an actual calendar.

Interesting to note that it appears the board has dropped the idea of starting a week earlier than usual due to poor community support, so the proposed start dates are either August 28 or after Labor Day.

Thanks for the info about MCPS dropping the August 21 start date idea. At least we now know it will either start the week of the 28th or after Labor Day.
