Are you saying the Hilton Garden Inn/Chinatown area is not good at night? Has anyone stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Midtown on Walnut St (or in that vicinity)? How was that area? Thanks in advance. |
The Convention Center/Chinatown area isn't bad or dangerous, it's just that when there's not a convention, there isn't much foot traffic at night and it can feel a little empty/dark walking around. I have never stayed at the Holiday Inn Express but it's close to City Hall and Broad Street, and there are a lot of hotels and theaters around there and lots of people out at all hours. Center City Philly is very safe. Have a great trip! |
| Walnut St is pretty nice the whole way up and down. Last 2 times we've gone we found a good rate at the Ritz (on Broad, right near city hall), and it was a great location. Down by the water is nice too -- I think there is a Sheraton on 2nd (?) that is in a beautiful area. You also couldn't go wrong with anything near Rittenhouse Square. Have fun! |
