I don’t believe Fox would give Gretchen the spot that Greta has had. Two totally different types of shows. Greta’s show is not one that Gretchen would be comfortable with.
I'm the pp who speculated that they would. I agree that it is totally different--but, if you followed the news and reports about Carlson, it is clear that she wanted to be in prime time. There were notes that she wrote to Ailes requesting that she be on the debate team--if not as a questioner, as an analyst.
I don't know what happened between Carlson and Ailes--but I don't think a woman who has been given lots of opportunities is brave if she waits until she is fired to bring a lawsuit. I don't think she was fired because of sexual issues, I think she was fired because her show was extremely sappy. She has never gotten over being Miss America. Just look at her website.
Have you read this piece about how Ailes was taken down? Carlson was planning to sue based on Ailes's behavior significantly before she was actually fired. The firing meant she had to get her lawyer to act more quickly than she had been planning. But she gathered all her evidence (taping their meetings) starting at least a year before the firing happened.
I think Carlson was plenty brave to blow the whistle on the shit that was going down at Fox News and the pervasive atmosphere there that suggested it was okay to require women to wear skirts and heels and do whatever was required with Ailes. If you haven't read this article, you should -- you won't be so blase about what was going down over there:
