| I'm definitely planning to drop Verizon cable when my contract ends. I haven't decided between Sling and Playstation VUE (which has Comcast Sports for Caps games, NFL network, plus NBC and FOX, the only networks we watch occasionally). One thing I'm having trouble with is figuring out how much Verizon charges for just phone and Internet. I have a feeling they'll jack up the price if I drop cable from my bundle. |
| Does Sling allow you to record shows and watch them later, or do you have to watch them live? |
+ 1 - north arlington resident but currently have FIOS. FIOS only internet is $70/month (for the fastest speed) but I'm definitely interested in other internet service providers |
| Our HD antenna arrived yesterday. Setting it up today. We have a smart tv and stream Netflix and Amazon. I think we will survive. |
Also want to do this. Would you mind sharing which antenna you purchased? |
Not PP but I've had the Mohu Leaf HD Indoor Antenna for several years. It's the best seller on Amazon. |

Kodi and it is free and legal though some argue that it is not.
You are not downloading but only streaming which is why they say it is legal. |
| How do you like Kodi? Been reading up on it, but haven't pulled the trigger. Can you watch everything you want once you have the addons? How is the quality of the HD shows/movies? |
| FYI OP, ESPN does not carry any hockey. It is all on NBC or NBCSN (or the regional sports nets for the local team, like CSN in washington.) |
| I haven't had tv in 10 years and DH in 8. He's still a sports nut so follows the sports news and we go out to watch at friends and bars etc. but not having it on at home all the time makes life so much easier. The tv is in the basement anyway so we don't even turn it on much. We have the iPad so we can watch stuff together upstairs if we want to. I have Netflix and Amazon and pbs passport. That's enough. We do have the radio on all day, npr and classical for background. |

We have Amazon, Netflix, and Sling. There are two Sling options with different channels, so depending on what you want (Fox vs ESPN sports) you would pick, orange, blue or orange and blue. The one with Fox also has NBC local Don't sign up through Amazon Fire stick app, because it only gives you one option. You can still use the Firestick to access your Sling account to watch, though.
Love our Firestick, too, BTW. We get everything through it. I don't watch much TV and we can't get anything over the air because we are at the bottom of a tall hill. |
Not PP but does anybody have answer to this? |
You can get HBOGO for like $15/month and watch anything whenever on any device. |
I believe you have to watch live. We use NHL network & MLB network--and use unblockus to get out of the blackout for local games. Then you can watch whenever--for those sports, at least. |
| We have Roku with Netflix and Amazon Prime and we've been happy. |
