She just went down the street to grab food? Thats terrible she got locked up. I was home alone at that age. |
Exactly this. These jackasses need to justify unnecessary overtime. How else will they afford Harley's and SeaDoos? |
Authorities who pull this shit need to face consequences from taxpayers. |
She isn't in MoCo, though. I agree it is over the top, but as a parent it is her responsibility to know and follow the laws of the state she was in. |
Not clear on exactly what was happening. Did the kids run out into the street after the dogs? |
Well, my 11 and 9 year old are home alone for 1.5 hours after school one day a week. But I live in MoCo. Makes me paranoid, though! |
Good grief, Delaware. Really?? |
It wasnt down the street, it was 5 miles away. Given that the dogs were running in traffic I would say the kids werent doing a very good job of being home alone. Also, Its a rental, not even there own house that theyre used to. I wouldnt have done it. |
This. |
Ridiculous. |
Completely. I thought the article was going to say she left them alone at the beach, and then I might have understood an arrest. |
At that age it is generally accepted that some kids are ready to stay alone and others aren't. It seems like these kids maybe were not if they were out chasing dogs in the road, which may be why mom was charged. That, and it doesn't sound like Delaware law allows this. |
+1 Her decision was unwise and unsafe for her kids, and I'm glad the person who helped them with the dogs was concerned enough to contact the police. |
Really? Those kids were in an unfamiliar place, and she was five miles down the road. What if she'd been detained, or an emergency had come up? Her choice is what's ridiculous! |
If I was the man I would have called the police too. They were running in the street in front of cars FFS. Not showing good judgement. |
