I think Rory will go to Logan's wedding, which explains the appearance of his college friends. I agree that she ends up with Jess. |

I have never been a fan of Jess and I am someone who always dated bad boys! I did like Logan. I think they had great chemistry.
Honestly, I think she's going to end up with Marty. I've thought this since the day the show ended. Every time I tell people my theory they always say, who?! Marty. |
+3 Growing up in a smaller town and watching this show, my friends and I all loved Jess (we are the same age as Rory). It was obvious to us that he was the one she was supposed to end up with and the whole Logan thing never made any sense. Logan was such a jerk- the clear villain! Then I moved to DC, discovered DCUM, and was shocked to find out that there are people who actually liked Logan. Huh? But I guess it makes sense that people on DCUM would want Rory to end up with the rich guy... |
I used to think that too, esp. after the scenes when she and Marty would hang out as friends and it was clear he was smitten with her. But then he just got so bizarre when he was Lucy's boyfriend and pretended he didn't know Rory. That was the weirdest plot line. I don't think Rory ever felt romantic toward him, so I don't see them getting together. |
I'm pretty sure it has been confirmed that the actor playing Marty isn't returning. |
| Had to google Marty - totally forgot about that! I have a better memory of the earlier episodes. |

| I cannot fathom how anyone liked Logan. I loathed that entitled, snobby, possessive, shallow, squinty prick. He was vile. I hope his father has gone bankrupt and Logan has contracted virulent syphillis. |
Wasn't the Logan story line that he broke from his father's ways and was working hard in his own path to success? The years as Cary have kept Logan in people's good memories, I'm guessing. If they put Rory back with Jess, I hope they really make something of him. Because there really was nothing there to build a real relationship. |
I think Logan did clash with his father but was still undeniably UC. What - their love of books/literature, of course! They had a more or less similar view of the world, too, though Rory was less cynical/jaded/rebellious. They were both "outsiders." |
| Wasn't Jess closer to Rory's authentic self? Whereas with Logan, it was like Rory was slipping into the world of Emily/Richard. |
| P.S., Dean was nice, but did he and Rory share any similar interests? |
| Logan's character is spot-on the east coast prep school type -- the rambling parties, drinking, pranks, good manners, charming, ease with adults, strangely decent treatment of girls as equals, very educated, nicknames for girlfriends. I know because I am a small town girl who married one of these guys (unfortunately not as loaded as the Huntsbergers, but with a lot less baggage). His change of character and proposal were completely out of character -- like many things in the later seasons. |
| ^^ all that to say, Rory was not into Logan enough to accept him without the $$. I bet she ends up working with him and marrying Jess. |
Noblesse oblige!
