Some MS buses in FCPS come as early as 630am - totally ridiculous!

You can thank current School Board chair Sandy Evans and the morons at SLEEP for that.

Sandy would have preferred middle schools kept their later (pre-change) start times, but a choice had to be made because taxpayers refuse to foot the bill for more buses and bus drivers.

Actually, Sandy/SLEEP wanted to make the elementary kids go first, but this was roundly rejected as moronic. The compromise was to make middle school kids go first, resulting in kids who need more sleep getting far less than recommended.

Really? Loudoun's been doing it that way for years an we love it. Our fear is that they'll flip it so we can "be more like Fairfax".
