And we'd have a teddy bear as our commander in chief. Or your four-year-old. Personally, I'd prefer that scenario to President Trump. |
and again, cold war hysteria. countries like russia, germany, great britain, turkey... have learned the big dangers of over-extension. we still haven't. putin is not interested in conquering the world the way we are. we shouldn't be either but then you have armchair analysts (and even real analysts) worrying about "who is going to be the leader" and we keep plodding in a completely unsustainable direction. |
| I agree that Germany probably will. Think Putin wants to be the leader of the "free" world, but hope someone in Europe will stop him if Trump is elected. |
| China and Russia will take over as the superpower. NATO will die. |
Nobody is catching us. We defend everyone. We pay for everything. We buy everyone else's crap. When it hits the fan somewhere in the world, you think they are going to call Germany? Alright. |
| Making up nicknames for politicians makes you sound like a fifth grader. |
Indeed. It's Trump's m.o. So puerile. But since he's given everyone a nickname, he needs one too. |
So you think that having a president who advocates war crimes, sows fear and hate, encourages countries to release our state secrets, and is basically a fascist (not to mention a personally morally bankrupt human being) won't change our status in the world? Sure. If Trump supporters keep burying their head in fear because muslims and illegal immigrants are supposedly the new boogeymen, then we don't deserve our status as world leader anyway. I could almost argue that the fact he has a shot at this means that enough of us are small, hateful, ignorant people that we already are too stupid to lead the free world. Let's let a more capable country do it. |

Make no mistake, climate scientists are worried about Trump; human rights activists are worried about Trump; and geopolitical scientists are also very, very worried about Trump.

Talk about a fast descent of a political star. Elizabeth Warren's speech was so sleep inducing that I thought I had been shot with a poison arrow. |
I am the poster of the message that this thread should be retitled. So, after 5 hours or so, nothing has been changed. And, I didn’t rely on you simply reading my comment, but I reported it as well. Mr. Steele - I find it totally hypocritical of you to totally delete a thread referring to Warren (in the title) as Pocahontas (or some such name), yet you let this one stand. There must be a very simple explanation.............. |
China will fill the vacuum not Russia. Russia is not economically and politically strong, as china is. India is stronger than any of the European power, individually, in all aspects. So technically India is the aspirant to the title "Leader of the free world" if US closes its door to rest of the world. |
If you can't figure out the difference between Pocahantas and Trumpenstein then nobody can really help you out. |
