Bullfighter in Spain Killed by Bull

All the bulls in the bull fights are killed. It is the whole point of the bull fight. They are tortured and killed in the ring then butchered and carved in the back where other bulls wait for the same fate. Sick disgusting "sport," sorry the man died but it was a risk he chose to take.
Bull fighting should be banned

I hope it was painful.

nice.

these bulls have the best lives of any bulls in the world. a domesticated animal, cattle, don't forget.

#1, they are not castrated to become steers like 99.9% of male cattle.

#2, they rarely if ever see humans. they eat the best grass. They roam essentially free.

#3, then their last 20 minutes is a fight where they die, yes.

Compare that live to that of the rest of cattle in the world and which one sounds better?

+1

Lived in Spain for years, went to several bullfights. Horrible "sport."

I feel bad for his family (especially the wife, who witnessed it. Awful), but c'mon. You tortured bulls for a living! This cannot surprise people. And this sentiment comes from someone who actively dislikes animals. I just don't see the point in tormenting them for sport, I don't care how long the tradition.

+1. Torturing animals and people cheering on it! And what is the surprise if a man is killed by a bull? There has been a bear in MoCo county roaming recently, I ran into this black bear, no joke, 20 feet away from me. I didn't try to throw spears at it. Lucky for me, bear ran away, but I was ready to ran for my life, to be honest. OK, I actually just stood still. Imagine goading the bull, or the bear? Idiots. I am sorry for his family, but not at all sorry for the man.

And all this in Western Europe, that is praised by many posters here as being better than US.

So its like being single man until you're 40, then you die. Not bad.

I'm not surprised at the reaction of these posters. As a whole, Americans care way more for their animals than for other people. Especially if they are from a different race or country.

Except that the bull has no interest in fighting. I went to a bull fight in Spain and had to leave because it was so depressing. The bull just kept retreating even when "provoked." This was not a violent animal yet it was being jeered at by a crowd and having spears needlessly thrown into it. I could not understand why anyone would enjoy watching an animal be tortured?

Perhaps hard for most of the pallid GS-11s around here to fathom from the comforts of their air-conditioned cubicles, but ...

The first bullfight I ever attended was in Spain in the late 70s. One of the picadores was killed. Bull caught him in his horns going left, threw him about 15 feet in the air, then stomped on him, until the bull was distracted off. We found out the next day in El Pais that the picador had died.

So I was fine with bullfighting after that. While the odds are clearly stacked against the bull, there is a real risk of death for the fighters.

What a stupid comment. But, probably true in your case, as why would people care about somebody as nasty as you? If you are ok with provoking an animal and stabbing it as sport you are not worthy of anybody's care.

What is wrong with you, pp? A man died. He was somebody's son. And you are "glad" he was killed? SMH.

This is a sport, a dangerous one. No one put a gun to the matador's head.

So why did you go more than once?

+1 although they probably ended up killing it. I'm not checking into this - I find the sport just abhorrent.
