My soon to be kindergartner has several friends named Evelyn. All go by Evie. Two pronounce it EVE-ee and two pronounce it EH-vee.

2nd grader knows all sorts of Avas ( some A-va, some AH-va).

5th grader has an Eve in his class. No nickname.

I know two Evie's (both pronounced Eh-vee). One male, one female. I don't know if it's nickname for anything - it's just how I've always known them.

We have an Eva. Fits our daughter perfectly! Born in 2009. Apparently we all had the idea at the same time! Also named after a great grandma - and the cute alien girl in Wall-E!
