Camp Wabanna reviews/thoughts???

I'd love to hear more about this place? Do they offer open houses in the fall?

I don't remember an open house In the fall but early in the year than they offer a spring retreat in March/April for $50. My daughter enjoyed her experience at Wabana. She will be returning next year. The religious aspect was not overwhelming if that is a concern

Was looking into this camp and found this thread on here, but it didn't seem very helpful. Wondering with fresh eyes if anyone has any thoughts on this camp - Camp Wabanna?

Can't comment on the overnight camp but we do the do the day camp each year, for the last 4 years and it is great. Food is wonderful, staff is really good and get to know the campers. Great activities, religious aspect keeps the camp clean and kinda focused on good times as opposed to worldly distractions. I don't believe they are trying to convert anybody but trying to steer them toward being better people. My dd loves the games and the singing. It is extremely diverse, esp. considering it is in one of the more racially challenged areas of AA County - staff and campers. I've seen the overnighters and they all look happy.

We toured the dorms, bunk beds with maybe 6 or 10 in a room, clean, basic and simple. As for A/C, call them and ask, they are super friendly and helpful. It's too late now but they do a spring open house each year in April usually.

Daughter attended their last yr and loved it. Camp was excellent about posting pictures on FB. Diverse group of campers. Dorms have AC, chapel each night. Best camp for the price hands down

On this day in 1969 I was attending a camp for 2 weeks in mayo Maryland called Camp Wabbanna and we all gathered around 1 small television in the auditorium as over a hundred of us watched the landing of the Moon as it was actually happening.
