He's just a mutt. No idea what breed. Maybe some lab, some other stuff. He's a large dog.

Our 3yo rescue mutt doesn't like to be pet. He likes to be near us, sometimes laying right next to us, but pulls away if you go to pet him.

He probably just wasn't socialized that well with humans when he was a pup. He can be a happy dog he just won't bond with you the way he would have if he had had more positive interactions w/humans as a puppy. And part of it (maybe even most of it) could be the breed too. Some breeds are more independent in nature.
