At what HHI would you get a cleaning lady to come every week?

It's one of the things I would not give up. We had a weekly cleaner at $80K HHI. It was a huge splurge and totally worth it (I had several young kids).

HHI is 800k and we are sticking with every other week. I've gotten somewhat spoiled over time and although I like being spoiled I also like to remain within shouting distance of "down to earth."

We are at $500k and I'm considering the switch to every week. The money isn't an issue but I'm worried about the additional time spent on cleaning prep. But if they clean more often then maybe the house isn't trashed?

We make $230,000 and I don't feel I could up the cleaning to weekly. We pay $95 every other week and it holds the house fairly well. The last few days of that second week are a little yucky. But not horribly so.

The investment is worth it for me. It frees up time and eases stress, and I can do things with my family instead. But I don't think there'd be a high return on time if I went to weekly. You may feel differently. Weigh your time against your money. Has your time become more valuable yet?

We make 300k. We have a weekly cleaner who charges $85/week.

Each & every person has a little "something" in his or her life where they tend to spend a little more $$ than they probably should.

It's called a guilty pleasure.

I say this type of investment pays huge dividends.
If you have to cancel a magazine subscription or two, it's so worth it to spend your free time w/family instead of scrubbing the bathroom on your hands + knees!!

Same. Our lady is amazing, and she is biweekly. If I had tons more, I'd probably use it on something else like cooking.

220k and we're not there yet. We have every other week at 110 a pop, and I clean on the weekends in between.

Op, it's possible the cleaners would charge less if you moved to weekly. part of the cost is the grime build up over two weeks. Ask them if they'd do $100 for once a week.

Unless your house is huge, it seems like you could do better on price.

I have weekly housecleaners that I moved up from every other week at the $200k mark. The main reason I did it is that my DH did not do his fair share of housework, and instead of continuing to argue about it for the next decade, I considered the difference my DH's contribution to the household upkeep.

No way. We make about that and the only thing we outsource is yard work ($25/week). No way can we afford a cleaning lady.

We switched to weekly not long after the second kid. We both work full-time, DH more than that, and it saves some time and makes us feel like the place isn't a constant mess. We are at around $600k, but this is our main splurge, other than big childcare costs, but I view that differently.

We make $220k. Since my oldest will no longer need SACC next year, and my middle child will only do morning SACC, I have been thinking about moving those childcare savings towards a weekly cleaning lady.

Well, I chose a cleaning service that provides health insurance and retirement for the workers. I'm sure hat adds to overhead. But it was important to me.
