Reusable Swim diapers or Pampers/Huggies disposable?

If you can count on your child not pooping in the pool, then I prefer reusable -- we just used the iPlay swimsuits for my DD, but she pretty much always pooped at the same time every day.

We use the Apple Cheeks swim diapers and really like them. She has pooped in them before but it stays in.

But the idea of a swim diaper is that water flows in and out, and while poo solids would stay in, pool water would still circulate in and out of the diaper.

Wtf?

We used iplay and had no issues. We have a few in each size that are now being passed on a third baby.

NP here. I just got an iplay for the 6 month old. If she does poop in it - then what? I mean, if I'm at the pool - she poops, I dump the poop in the toilet, and then what? No more pool for her? Change her into a disposable diaper and head home?

Honestly asking - just got it in the mail and realize I have no idea what I'm doing.

If you only have one, you probably will need to put her into a regular diaper and take her home if she poops. You likely won't be able to clean it out and put it back on without washing it. You could get two of them and use the other in a case like that, but I feel like the chances of her pooping regularly while swimming before you're close to being finished anyway are probably slim. I took mine swimming fairly frequently and never experience a poop in the swim diaper, but every kid is different.

I use the reusable swim diaper 99% of the time but I do have a package of reusable swim diapers I keep around for when the reusable is wet or dirty and I throw a disposable one or 2 in the pool bag just in case.

By the time you get her all cleaned up and changed, it will probably be time to eat or sleep anyway and you'll probably feel ready to go home ?

I used a combo of reusable and disposable. So I just bought a small pack of disposable and they lasted all summer. She never pooped in the reusable diaper, but I always had 1 or 2 backups with me. Also, for our beach trip, we'd do the beach and the pool, and the reusable would still be wet (was out to dry in the sun) so then I'd just use a fresh disposable.
