My Dad accidentally left town with DH's favorite sportcoat...

You are judging the father on information you don't have.

I also had a sick newborn and a sick toddler at home so doing so wasn't at the top of my priority list.

I am glad you are going to apologize to your father.

He is a grown up. He shouldn't be so careless.

OP sounds right up crazy bara.

Could have been resolved with a FedEx shipment by each party.

I can't even imagine why you yelled at your father though. Presumably your DH had other coats while your dad had nothing. You were way out of line.

Yelling at your parent is very disrespectful.

Op, you are nuts. It is a sports coat. Holy crap, you are making a mountain out of a molehill.

This is funny and reminds me of my dad using anyone's towel in the bathroom when he visits, even if he has been assigned a certain towel. I side with your dad. Sh!t happens. If the coat is not in the same condition, then he can offer some money for a new one or a repair.

I'm glad someone posted the Chris Farley link because that's all I think about... he went around the country looking like Chris Farley... good for you, dad! I bet you brought smiles to peoples faces.

I once left with my niece's jacket. Big deal. I mailed it back LOL
