8yo

Ballet 2x/week (goes to 3 next yr.)
Heritage language 1x/week (on weekend)
Academic enrichment class (1x/week)

3yo

Nothing yet, except for a 10-week rec center weekend ballet class this past winter, but she wants to do this again and also has been asking for swim lessons, which I know I do have to get her started on.

I am nervous about we will do it all next year and if 8yo will have to drop something and if so what. She wants to do it all.

I work pt.

It is sad how many people put languages, tutors, academic classes on here.

Don't feel guilty. At all. Many would say you're doing the right thing. I posted our list of several activities, and I question if it's too much all the time.

Why? My 8 yo has one sport per season and music lessons, but he's in after care until 5 every days since we both WOTH. Right now he's out 2 evenings a week and has one game on the weekend. I feel like this is almost too much since he needs down time. No one in the family likes weekends fully booked and he enjoys running around with the boys in the neighborhood the best.

I would also think that 4 separate sports is insane, but then I realized that's what my kid was doing for a few weeks this spring. They all had a pretty minimal time/effort commitment though (karate at his school, 30 min swim lesson in the neighborhood, etc). Most of the year though, he's only doing 0-2, and I try not to do things that require much of a drive, at least now when they are young.

2nd grader: swim lessons 1x week, soccer skills 1x week, karate 1x week, piano lesson, scouts. It's too much.

Kindergartener: soccer and swim lessons

Definitely do not feel guilty. When I read these lists all I think is "Jack of all trades, master of none"

9 year old:
travel soccer- 2 practices, one game a week
rec soccer- one practice, one game per week
soccer clinic- one practice, one game per week
piano lessons
Spanish lessons 2 times per week

9 year old:
travel baseball-1 practice, 2 games per week
little league-1 practice, 2 games per week
piano lessons
Spanish lessons 2 times per week

6 year old:
rec soccer--1 game per week

My kids don't do after care so they're out of school at 3:15 daily. Compared to kids who are in aftercare, they have 10-15 more hours PER WEEK of time. So they can do a practice per day and still have a few hours of down time at home each day before dinner.

7yr old only child so I have more bandwidth than some.

Fall/spring soccer - 1 practice and 1 game each week
Swimming lessons - 1x/wk year-round
Tennis lessons - 1x/wk March through October (she started last summer and is really liking it so we may look at finding some winter lessons next year).
Daisy Scouts - 1x/month

Considering adding piano lessons next fall, 1x/wk

It could feel busy, but it's also a social outlet for my extroverted only so for right now it's not too much.
