No such thing. The Shenandoah is a river and valley, not mountains. Shenandoah National Park is in the Blue Ridge Mountains, part of the Appalachians. |
My 6 year old DS loves NYC. If you go during nice weather, Central Park is great. Playgrounds, boating, Belvedere Castle. You could stay on the UWS in a more residential neighborhood (less stimulating than Midtown for your son), and be close the park and the American Museum of Natural History. Alternatively, you could stay downtown and do the Statue of Liberty and spend some time in Brooklyn. Brooklyn Bridge Park is fantastic. You could visit the NY Transit Museum. If you find yourself in or around Chelsea you could walk the Highline, which is lovely. There is a cute little kids play area 30th Street. |
| Deep Creek Lake? Hiking, rafting, mini-golf, Wisp has the mountain coaster and a kid's ropes course, go-karts, playgrounds.... |
