Bernie Sander's Resume

Lots of people don't list every single job they ever held. In my early days I worked as a housepainter, gas station attendant, carpentry, electrical and plumbing work and a few others but it doesn't make it onto my resume because a.) it would make the resume too long and b.) it's not particularly relevant to my current career.

Of course. They are so desperate to find something worth smearing him for and every time they dig something up, he ends up looking better. No wonder Clinton supporters are so angry and they are calling him "sanctimonious." He has simply been a decent person for his entire life.

Back door insults are a compulsion for about three Bernie Sanders supporters on this page. You seem to be one of them.

Huh? How is that a back door insult? Are there music geeks out there supporting Hillary? If so, then I apologize to all 3 of you.

I don't know what defines a "music geek", but I'm willing to bet at least a few of these people would count themselves as one:

Can you seriously not take a joke? Anyway, I was referring to "music geeks" who might take an interest in the punk rock scene in Vermont. I don't see anyone on that list of famous people who would likely care but you never know.

After graduating from college, Sanders returned to New York City, where he initially worked in a variety of jobs, including Head Start teacher, psychiatric aide, and carpenter.[30] In 1968, Sanders moved to Vermont because he had been "captivated by rural life." After his arrival there he worked as a carpenter, filmmaker, and writer[44] who created and sold "radical film strips" and other educational materials to schools.[45] He also wrote several articles for the alternative publication The Vermont Freeman.[46]

The funny thing is that this makes me like him more. A Head Start teacher? Is that true? Certainly better than a lawyer for Walmart.

Which presidential candidate was a lawyer for Walmart? Because Hillary Clinton was not.

LOL, Hillary WAS Walmart. She served on the Board of Directors for SIX YEARS.

Did I say she was not a director for Walmart? No. I said she was not a lawyer for Walmart. Words have meanings.

Nice backpedal - well, since she had no business experience, she was either put on the Board to provide legal guidance, or she was put there to win favors in the Arkansas Governor's Mansion (hint- both are not good). Please get a clue. I'm surprised she hasn't been hammered on this yet.

I know it's hard to believe, but not everything is a conspiracy.

"After finishing college in 1964 with a degree in political science, Sanders lived on a kibbutz in Israel before settling in Vermont. He worked a number of jobs, including filmmaker and freelance writer, psychiatric aide, and teaching low-income children through Head Start, while his interest in politics grew."

He didn't work steadily during this time; he had a subsistence lifestyle, channeling most of his energy into the Liberty Union Party. He ran for office a number of times prior to winning the mayoral election.

She's been hammered on it for years, and on this very forum. There's no mystery about why she served on the board. You probably didn't live in Arkansas during that time, so you may not be aware of how highly she was regarded in her own right.

Is this supposed to make him look bad? He didn't make enough money for you? He was living a normal life and being a decent person. Perhaps he didn't work steadily because he was a single parent? I didn't work steadily when my kids were little either.

No, it's intended to demonstrate his long-standing interest in politics. He wasn't a single parent, BTW. Levi's mother had custody.

They had an informal shared custody arrangement.

Yes, and she had legal custody, correct?

What is your point now? The courts routinely awarded legal custody to mothers at that time. She did have legal custody and they had a an informal shared custody arrangement.

He shared custody of his son in an informal arrangement with Mott, according to people who knew them. “She was around a lot,” Nancy Barnett, a friend who lived nearby, told me. Barnett called Mott “a pretty quiet, private person.” Sanders rented a small brick duplex at 295 1/2 Maple Street that was filled with not much furniture and not much food in the fridge but stacks of checked-out library books and scribbled-on legal pads. His son, who called his father “Bernard,” had an upstairs bedroom.
