Bad habits or personality flaws really come out once there are kids and tons to manage.
Determine which camp you are in and get counseling if you both need it.
The thing with kids, raising a family and running an actual household is that if you have a spouse you need to be able to count on them, count on their contribution to running things. If you can't count on them you do not have a partner and it will only get worse, and thee stakes get higher and higher (2nd kid, kids learning disrespect/laziness/passive aggressiveness/iPhobe 24-7).

Personality is just a cop out for shutting down a conversation or improving oneself.
