Why can't you just keep your kid in daycare until the start of the school year?

Some younger kids go back to their former day care for the summer.

The challenge of scrambling to find summer coverage for our child may actually be what convinces us to say no-thanks to our pk3 match and keep the kid in daycare for another year.

That's incredibly short sighted, especially if you are in at a HRCS and don't have a good IB school. Not as many openings after PK3 - anywhere. You can also hire a summer nanny if you can't find a camp. Lots of college kids here looking for that kind of job to make it between school years, too.
