| I would politely decline Mexico and send a nice card-or contribute to their Go Fund Me for continuing couples counseling. |
Thanks, PP, you gave me a good chuckle.

OP here... should have clarified that the hotel was actually an AirBNB house rental that we were doing with 3 other couples since it was in a random beach town and there weren't many hotels. The other couples didn't want to go for a variety of reasons, so DH and I would have had to pay for the whole house on our own, which wasn't worth it. We thought about getting a different hotel in Portland but the additional costs were adding up, and the reality is we have been to Maine a number of times, and weekends away from our young kids are so limited that we didn't want to waste it on something we weren't fully excited about.
The reality is that we would love to celebrate their wedding with them and I am sure it would be a great time, but I really don't see these two being married forever so not sure it's worth it to spend even more a second time around. |
| Mexico is tacky, so it sounds perfect for this couple. No class! They should elope. Are they millenials? I really can't believe they would cancel the first, everyone lost money, then another destination wedding???? |
Uhh I'm a millennial and I'm sure all my friends would agree this couple sucks at being considerate. |
Mexico is tacky? I mean, I agree about the couple. They should have a small ceremony or just get married at the JoP. But how the hell can a country be tacky? |

I'd go to Mexico just to have some chilequiles! I love a culture where nachos for breakfast is a legit thing.

| Skip it. Ridiculous. Send a card with zero money. |
| Send a card with a donation to a mental health organization in their name. |
If the couple wanted people, including you and DH, with them to celebrate their wedding, they wouldn't be planning their second (SECOND!) destination wedding after having royally screwed all their guests over on the first one. Additionally, you can be fairly sure this marriage isn't going to last which, combined with the first issue, makes this a nonstarter for me. |
| They sound like wackos. Ignore and write these twits off. |
| Skip it. |
| For a good friend, no. For a close-close family member it might be different. Write something personal and very sincere about wishing them every happiness and a gift. |
| Flush these turds and be done with them. You can do better in the friends department. |

I would be furious if someone canceled a wedding in that amount of time and we lost all that money. They should refund everyone imo. or PAY for this trip.
