Anwyhere in the Middle East, Some parts of Africa and N Korea. |
How is saying 'some parts of Africa' in any way helpful? YOu know it is a massive continent right? That's kind of like saying 'some places in the world'. |
I am a total dork that loves travelling off the beaten path and this is my current absolute no-go list for tourism (I am a white female fwiw):
Afghanistan Syria Somalia Libya Iraq (but ok for the north) N. Korea Nigeria (but ok for the south) NW/tribal areas of Pakistan My list is not totally exhaustive; there are some situation where I would not want to leave a city (Mali, Niger come to mind). I actually would go to Iran through a sanctioned tour, but I prefer to cross my fingers and wait that one day I will be able to visit there without jumping through hoops. |
Iran is actually safe for a no-ties American. They love Americans. |
What happened recently in Williamsburg? |
No way I would set foot in North Korea, Syria, Libya or Afghanistan. |
Some parts of L.A. County, Washington D.C. and Detroit for most all people.
Some parts of the Texas and Florida if you're any race other than white. |
My list would be- Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, North Korea. |
Believe it or not, this is true. |
Yemen. |
Yes, both of you are right. Also it is safe for those with ties. I have seen plenty of friends and acquaintances visit family there. |
Have you ever been to Sudan? I have. It's not too dangerous for Americans. There are just parts in general that are dangerous for everyone. |
Sounds like you're doing some poor planning....I can't imagine going on an around the world trip and skipping the entire Middle East. |
I do not believe Yemen is a safe travel destination for Jewish-Americans anymore.
|
Venezuela used to be a safe place for Americans to visit.
I don't plan to return there in the near future though. No longer safe. |
