Nurse responsiveness at SGF

Thanks for responding. I'm currently cycling! That's why I'm upset. I just feel like left out on my own a little bit, you know? I was told my egg retrieval would be Thursday but it apparently won't be, but no one ever explained to me exactly why nor gave me a revised approximate timeline. I don't mind that it's delayed, but I DO want to know more, and that's what I asked about most recently with no reply. Am I asking too much?

1) My SG nurse always responds within an hour or so. Email or voicemail, doesn't matter.

2) There is not revised timeline, its day by day once you start stims. The calendar they gave you was approximate (and says so at the top of the page). They won't know what day your egg retrieval will be until the day they decide to trigger you (based on your bloodwork/ultrasound that morning).

I found that my nurse was on vacation more than she was in the office. If I left a VM someone else would return the call for her if I sent an email no response until she returned (usually the next day). She was nice enough but hardly what I would consider on top of things.

I've had two nurses. The first left for a family emergency, but didn't leave an out of office voicemail or email. It took two days of calling and leaving messages (I was on BCP, not stims yet) before I thought to call the front desk and found out she way away for a month.

Someone on the forum suggested asking your nurse who her back-up was. I asked that of my second nurse (the first never came back), and she told me don't worry, just call the front desk. My second nurse left on medical leave for five weeks (leaving an out of office email), and when I called the front desk, was told two nurses were covering for her.

My experience with responsiveness hasn't been super positive. But I've heard clinics other than K street are better.

We found that cc'ing the doctor on emails to our nurse got a response MUCH faster.

You know your doctor's email??! The front desk tried to tell me once that my doctor "doesn't have voicemail." I was like, "pretty sure he has voicemail, you just won't give me access to it."

The nurse also has an assistant-type person, I forget the word. On the initial forms, the contact info was given to me of the nurse and also this second person. If I call and email me nurse and no one answers, I call the 2nd number.
If you need to know something right away, just call the regular number and say you want to talk to a nurse asap and yours is not answering.
