Does the parent referral increase the chance of getting in - all other factors being equal?

Also, what about bi-lingual (ie multicultural) student?

Shouldn't a second language increase the chances of getting in?

No

Not saying all.

Just let multilingualism be another favorable FACTOR to consider, like race or gender-identity.

I would lump it in with letters of recommendation as a "factor" of (nearly no) importance.

As a parent of a kid who is a racial minority who also speaks 2 languages - no! And yes, it's an Asian language.

That's some ridiculous logic.

If there is an advantage then these kids should have done better on the testing.

If you want to be perverse in applying your logic you should *deduct* the files of kids who are bilingual, play music, chess, etc. because these are forms of "prepping" and therefore the scores reflect the prepping and should be discounted. Of course I'm not advocating this - I'm just showing you how one would more logically apply your reasoning.

No one is saying these things aren't valuable or interesting.

Just saying they shouldn't be a factor for admissions into AAP. This isn't college.
