
The differences as I see them (and there may very well be plenty of daycares that fit my "preschool" definition):
Daycare=all day, mostly free play, daycare providers don't necessarily have a college degree or speciality in early childhood development. Preschool=half day, organized activities with some free play, teachers have education/early childhood development backgroud, classes are more closely divided up into similar age groups. |
A friend of my does a preschool program for her little guy at the JCC in fairfax--perhaps there is a JCC (jewish comunity center but apparently you don't have to be jewish to attend) near you? |
