43 and also wear converse. Ive been pondering the slip on, vans type sneakers, but I keep thinking they're a step too far for me. I see them on other same-age women and like them, though. But I'm chunky and a little frumpy and worry that I will just look sad rather than relaxed and comfy.

I'm 35 and wear grey Vans. I get compliments on them all the time, including from women in their 40s. I was deciding between those and converse but the Vans were more comfortable for my feet (high arches).

No. They're less supportive than barefoot, if that's possible. Sorry -- some other form of fun for you. (Doc Martens maybe?)
