Potty Trained Four Year Old will NOT Poop in Big Toilet!

My son just turned 5 and hates the regular toilet seat ... I think he can't relax enough to let things go. This helps him.

OP - if this is just about you not wanting to clean the potty chair, then you can buy liners on Amazon. Just search for potty chair liner.

can you sit the pot part of his potty into the toilet or add a tiny bit of water to his seat?

I had the same issue with my DS. I tried Everything. Literally.

Here's what I found worked:
1) only giving him iPad after he pooped in toilet. Cut it out entirely all together except for as a reward for pooping. Yes it was brutal. But I was desperate and it worked. He's highly motivated by getting to use the iPad.

2) bought several books specifically about not wanting to poop. "I can't I won't no way" is one. Search for these on Amazon. There are literally toddler books about not wanting to poop and not liking sounds etc. read them over and over and over... You get the picture. There are also videos on you tube about not wanting to poop in toilet. Find some of those and show him a few you think are good.
