| Releasing two Madeira slots tonight or tomorrow. Very nice follow up email saying the admission was more competitive than normal. Hope that helps Wait List people. |
Boarding decisions come out May 7th. CurI ousted if we will hear before then. I heard they make phone calls. |
| Most of the Day Students come from about 15-30min. away. Some from as far as Potomac or Alexandria. |
Boarding decisions come out well before May 7. |

I have heard that it is much tougher to get into Madeira as a day student than as a boarding student. They cap the day student population at 40% and the school has gotten very popular in this area recently. Would you give more details? How tough is it to get admitted by Madeira? |
|
| This year was pretty tough. They followed up with an email to accepted students saying you should be especially proud this year. |
| Does anyone know the average number of applicants and number of admission by Madeira for day students? |
Generally it is always harder to get into a boarding school as a day student than a boarder. The school wants to preserve it's boarding school culture, as well as fill its dorms, so they allocate many fewer spots to day students. |
I am sorry. I meant March 7th. You could have just corrected it. |
| I think as Holton and NCS become harder to get into for 9th, Madeira sees more applications and in turn becomes harder to get into on the day side of things. I've also heard that they are doing better recruiting for boarding and as Episcopal becomes more competitive, Madeira sees more applications. |
| Madeira admits approximately 75 freshmen each year. There is a 49/51 split between day and boarders. It is increasingly difficult to get into the school regardless of boarding status. |
| They add more boarders sophomore year. That may be a way in if you don't make it in this round. |
DD fled NCS for Madeira... Her idea. |
| I’m on the boarding waitlist and I’m wondering how it moves anyone know?really hope it turns out well for me. |
