Do we need any more evidence that the Ivies are overrated?

They may be overrated but they are not and will not lose any applicants. And not just Ivy schools. Duke, Stanford, and the like remain schools of choice even though Duke has had many instances of nasty racial incidents (noose incidents have not kept AA students from applying).

The reputation of the schools, deserved or not, will continue to draw thousands of applicants for a few seats.

We just aren't rich enough to pay for an education he isn't using. Other people can worry about the world's problems. Or my son can -- but not on top of tuition.

I love you. This is exactly how I feel.

There can be an equal balance between academics and rightful social intervention. Yes, let others worry about the world's problems until the problems impact your way of life then you, undoubtedly, will be first in line demanding your rights.

Hopefully your son can strike that balance.

Such BS. Plus Brown is pass/fail. Tuition-room-board. If that was my kid and I was paying the bills I would be livid. If it's aid $ should be refunded. This is absurd-now I suppose campus activism will be a course. Where is the line drawn?

This is such bullshit. You're overreacting. Nobody is saying to forego your studies but there is nothing wrong with raising an eyebrow if you something wrong.

If your kid doesn't go to Brown, stop worrying about it. Or is it the particular theme of the protest that bothers you. Would you have an issue protesting campus rape?

Foregoing their studies is literally what the article is about.

We need more than doctors, lawyers, pharmacists, engineers, bankers, and consultants.

?? They will still have to show up every day. No one will give them notes to get out of doing something because they are stressed. Most people they encounter are unlikely to use alternate pronouns, which will be exhausting to continually explain.
