Anyone try and fail sperm analysis on purpose?

It is the issue. We meet the criteria for ICSI. The insurance company just messed up and denied the first request for ICSI. He will take another test and I'm worried his new test results will have improved.

But if they have improved so much that you no longer qualify, you won't need it.

That's what I'm confused about. The doctor is requesting it regardless.

Or they could say, our diagnosis has been wrong all along, your issue is MF, not xyz, and change you protocol! not to mention the insur fraud part brought up by PP. it's less than 2K to add icsi, as someone who is paying out of pocket for ALL ivf incl icsi b/c my insur won't cover any ART, i don't really appreciate you trying to cheat as it skews costs and eventually makes it harder for the rest of us to get any ART coverage. you are very lucky to have any insurance coverage for ART, i'm pretty shocked that you would be trying to further exploit that. please don't give us IVF-ers a bad name.

I haven't previously exploited insurance coverage. We are eligible for IVF and our insurance is paying. Your use of the word "further" is strange. You're insinuating that anyone receiving coverage is exploiting.

These comments are a little nuts. It's not fraud to engage in whatever behavior you want before the test. Fraud would be tampering with the sample.

We were in this situation last year. My husband had had many bad SAs, but insurance was demanding one more before they would approve us for IVF coverage. Things were stressful enough without worrying about him getting a fluke good result, so I told him to do whatever he could to tank it. I think he went to the sauna and drank some bourbon. Who knows if it made any difference?

Huh? My DH forgot about his sample for an hour but his numbers were still off the charts amazing.

Thank you! Yes, I'm worried about a fluke good result as you say.

You want to rub BenGay on his scrotum.
