This applicant was worried Georege Mason might reject and this applicant's approximate scores/gpa level etc. was well known to friends, relatives and other people etc.

Well something doesn't match up. Either the gpa and test scores relayed through the gossip vine are not accurate, or a prideful parent has misrepresented the acceptance of the student.

The 1600 is for just reading and math sections. Gotta be. Maybe candidate is a victim of abuse? Maybe it was a mistake? For certain, no one here knows the whole story. Maybe whatever, that kid's in.

I doubt the admissions team even looks at the application essay unless the student's other stats indicate s/he should be considered.

Doesn't matter if scores are "well known." You just never know. Unless you have seen her official score report and transcript, you really don't know.
