Advice on neighborhoods in Silver Spring

What is the elementary school in Forest Estates - the neighborhood near Holy Cross? One thing our realtor told us is that it can be tricky to get a house with a garage in Silver Spring. Is this true?

We have a garage and a driveway but not all my neighbors do. (We live in Forest Estates, the neighborhood across from Holy Cross Hospital).

I think the elem. school might be Oakland Terrace.

OP again - I think there are some neighborhoods where garages are common, others (Woodmoor) where they are not. That one isn't a dealbreaker for me, we don't have one now and I don't really care. From my own limited observations so far, the places with garages are in further-out areas of Silver Spring, like Stonegate.

Stonegate would be an easy commute to College Park -- you would be a stone's throw from New Hampshire and could either take that or take Randolph/Cherry Hill. Plus, I think parts of Stonegate feed into Blake HS, right? FWIW, you don't want to be in the Kennedy cluster. FWIW, you could easily find a brick ranch with a garage on a huge lot in Olney --- and take back roads out to Laurel/College Park.

Woodside is great (close to downtown, nice houses, great elementary school), but definitely more expensive than Woodmoor.

Oakland Terrace is the school for Forest Estates. There was just an article in yesterday's Post about the principal and test scores and how good they are.
