I hate the Super Bowl. I hate that it's in a frickin' Sunday---always have.
I don't like any Sunday night events or late nights or parties. Half-time for my 8 and 10-year olds. |
| What a jolly good crowd here. We'll all watch as long as we want. Boys are 10 and 12. |
| I'm a DC transplant now in the 'other' DC (Denver). DC is 10 -- since we're 2 hours ahead of East Coast time, we'll let her stay up 'til it's over (but won't head out for the celebrations once we win....Broncos fever is highly contagious and great fun too [and at the risk of outing myself, since we lived in NC for 9 years, this game is tremendous fun for us to watch, debate, discuss, and relish!) |
It's a contest to see which football team is the best in the entire country. Now you know. I've lived in this country for almost 40 years and have never cared about football. Not a fan of any contact sports. You are not alone! |
| Don't people worry about their kids starting out the week tired? |
No, it is a once a year event. No different than when Halloween is on a weekday. The latest the game will be over will be 10:30pm. School starts at 9am. Not a huge issue. |
Isn't trick-or-treating at 5 or 6 pm? |
No, because it's not dark at 5 or 6 pm and no one is home from work yet to give out candy. My 11-year-old will watch the whole thing this year. |
Ugh. |
Ridiculous |

12 yr old DS is going to a super bowl party so I expect he'll watch the whole thing (but still go to school on time tomorrow).
DH, 11 yr old DD and I don't care about football so I don't expect to watch and DD will go to bed on time. |
| We will go to a SuperBowl party at a friend's house. I am going to try and get my kids (4 and 6) to take a nap. My kids will probably fall asleep on the way home - I am actually thinking about taking them in their pajamas. They'll be fine. My 4 year old still gets a nap at school, and my 6 year old can sleep in (school starts at 9:15). NBD for one day. |
| My son, 8, will watch all of it. He loves sports! |
| No one watches the Super Bowl in my house. You are all supporting a sport that causes serious head injuries to its players. |
| My 7 and 9 yr old will watch until it ends. DS is a major Broncos fan. They are up till 10:30 normally anyway and still get a good 10 hours of sleep a night and do well in school etc |
