OMG my kids have been out playing in the snow for 4+ hrs

How?? Our is icy and deep as hell. When you step into it, you're trapped. Dog is even afraid of it now as he (rightly) believes he might break a leg walking in it.

Op here. Our backyard gets a lot of morning/afternoon sun, so the snow is still soft, yet we still have lots of it, though I can see some bald patches now that the kids have been walking around it.

That is what got my son interested in it again. Seeing how far he can walk on it before falling through and playing on the giant piles of ice.

I remember doing that as a kid - as soon as we'd wake up we'd get our snow stuff on and run outside and stay outside ALL day. So much fun.
