| Get an endo scratch. |
| My problem was with me. I took wrong dosages. UGH! Make sure you really know all the correct dosages, timings, needles, etc. It can get really confusing so take the time to learn everything.Don't be afraid to ask questions. |
| Ask the nurse if you need to order all the meds immediately. I vaguely remember (this was many years ago) that one of my first cycles (IUI or IVF, I can't remember) I ordered everything they called in and had waaaaay to much (and spent $$$ OOP). So ask the nurse, what do I need to get started? |
| Oh, yeah, not having to do with paperwork and authorizations, but something to think about--have DH practice giving a sample (ahem) into a little cup. You don't want to lose some of it because he can't aim while O'ing. |

Getting insurance approval for SG was a nightmare and I have crazy good insurance. Also, have a gp monitor your TSH. Mine went crazy from stims. Also, if you have hashimotos, go to an endocrinologist and have them put your on synthroid or monitor you really closely. Women with hashimotos who have normal thyroid function are more likely to have a miscarriage. Every step for me at SG was a nightmare. I did a freeze all because they over-stimmed me and had a failed FET where the doctor couldn't get the embie out of the catheter. I moved to CFA and never had an insurance issue and have my twins from my first and only FET with them. Also, check who your nurses back up is.....my nurse left in the middle of one of my cycles and never told anyone and I couldn't get ahold of anyone. They gave me a temp nurse but she was overwhelmed because they were down staff. Also be prepared for your RE not to remember you or know you. The sonographers are really nice though.

I am also starting my first cycle at SG. I have Kaiser insurance and so far so good. The auth was approved in less than a week, but somehow SG didnt get the paperwork from two weeks.
I start BC on the 14th ish... for two weeks. Should I get my stim meds now? |
OP here. Congrats on your authorization! How did you find out it went through? Can you see it online? On the meds, mine are called into the Kaise pharmacy and I am scheduled to pick them up early next week. I placed the order yesterday (so a total of <4 days). You might want to do the injection class first. We learned a lot about how much to order at the class. |
