I read an article that a snow blower was the #1 best thing to buy after you are 40. You won't believe how many people have a heart attack or throw out their back shoveling.
|
| I just ordered a powerful leaf blower to try out for my snow removal. I don't want to deal with gas, and I can use the leaf blower in the summer too. Fingers crossed. |
|
OP, would your husband mind coming to clear the driveways and sidewalks of all of your DCUM "neighbors"?
It's the right thing to do! |
I can't imagine that a leaf blower would be good for anything but a small amount of a powdery snow. |
| OP, we're all friends here - can you swing by and do my driveway? |
| We are blessed with an abundance of industrious Spanish speaking folks who reliably show up at our door after a big snowstorm, asking to shovel our circular drive and sidewalk, but I should have gotten one of these snow blowers last Spring to put my DS to work instead. Turn him into a profit center for the day. |
Yea it only works for the extra light powdery stuff, not the wet stuff we're likely to get this weekend. |
| an electric snow blower? ok.... good luck with that even in a few inches. |
Either a snowblower, or a condo. |
| Electric snowblowers suck. Experience here OP. Sorry |
| What a boring gift |
My dad is still shoveling 450 feet of sidewalk (corner lot) and a double-wide driveway at 83! I guess I should give him props. |
| A big "no" to electric snowblowers. They are weak unless you are just clearing a small area with less than 3 inches of snow. |
Actually, new high quality cookware is awesome. But then again I can do better than, say, throwing chicken nuggets into the microwave and calling it dinner. Sorry you can't be inspired. |
It's the D.C. area. OF COURSE they were paying attention. And poorly pretending not to. |
