What's the right age for bowling?

I don't know where in the Falls Church area you are, but the bowling alleys on the military bases are great deals and you don't have to be military to use them (we're not). The one at Ft. Meyers is "classic" (old-ish) with ramps and bumpers. The one at Ft. Hunt has been updated and is kind of nice is a cheesy bowling alley way. Also has ramps and bumpers.

Anyway, we go a lot in the winter just to get out of the house.

There's also one at Fort Belvoir. Here's a list of a bunch of bowling places in the DC area:

Oh, Ft. Belvoir is the one I meant as being nice/updated. I was mixed up, thanks.

Pinstripes in Georgetown by G Park shops. They have bowling and serve pizza/Italian food. Little more upscale than usual bowling alley food.

My average sized 3.5yo son can chuck a 6lb ball down the lane. It takes a year for the ball to get to the pins (Def use bumpers), but it can be done. But he likes the ramp too.

OP, my son loves it. Give it a try.
