No. See post above.

My in pool and not in pool kids both received their scores in the same mail delivery. Ignore that poster.

Every kids will receive an envelope handed by the teacher or via mail. All envelopes contain the Cogat scores, some of the envelopes also contain an in-pool letter with a questionnaire.

Powell sent pool letters with the cogat scores. If you didn't get the letter in the same envelope, you may not be in the pool.

Thanks for the clarification. We do see the pool letter in the envelop.

OMG. Your poor kid, letting you down like that.

Still nothing.

I'm a little annoyed because parent requests are apparently due by 1/15. How do we know whether to prep requests if we haven't received scores or letters?

We received the scores in the mail on 1/11, mailed by the school on 1/8. However no pool letter. DC is in pool, which I also knew from a conversation with the AART last Friday, so I assume the pool letter and questionnaire will arrive separately.

Seems like you are trading some stress for the potential of saving you, what, an hour's worth of work? If you are so keen on AAP, prepare your referral. Even if you kid is in pool, the material will only help (or you can talk to your AART and see if they recommend not submitting whatever you have prepared.)

I would be very annoyed as well. We got scores and letters on Saturday.

Another one who has not yet received CoGat scores (and has a child who is not in pool based on the NNAT). We went ahead and submitted the referral already to the AART.

Our principal (Shrevewood ES) sent this message yesterday:

If you are interested in having your child screened for Level IV services for the 2016-2017 school year, you only have four days left! The deadline for referrals is Friday, January 15, 2016. Please do not wait for CogAT scores or pool letters to be sent home before submitting the referral if you feel your child would benefit from the program. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the AART.

I'd be annoyed, too, but not because I wouldn't know whether to prepare a referral. I imagine you already were going to do one either way.

FCPS has posted for MONTHS now that scores may not be in parents' hands by the referral deadline, and urged parents to refer their child if the parent(s) felt their child would benefit from the program. This is NOT news.

We're new to the district, and we've heard zip from our school about how and whether to turn in parent referrals: the extent of the received information is one line on a (new) principal's email saying, "AAP IV Parent Referrals Due Jan. 15." Not even a live link to the form. We've been told nothing else by teachers or the AART.

But thanks for yelling at me. You're a peach.
