What about June?

Not sure if it's an option, but what was your grandmother's middle name? Can you use that letter to honor her?

Let us know what you decide, and good luck.

Thanks for the kind words. Just out of curiosity - do you like June better than Jayne?

Yes! Unfortunately I don't like the name Jane in any spelling. June seems more unusual and both poetic (when older) and cute (for a kid). Is the middle name initial not an option?

She used her maiden name as a middle name - which is an O.

I like Madeleine Odette.

I'm a PP and can't believe I forgot that my niece's middle name is Jean: she's Madeline Jean! Goes by Mattie.

Why? It shortens to Maddy like on Moonlighting, if you're old enough to remember early Bruce Willis ...

I like Madeleine Jayne or Jane. I think Jane is a lovely name.

I don't like Madeleine Jane -- to me its like serving Champagne with Cheese Doodles.

How about Madeleine Jora (Jora apparently means "autumn rain" in Hebrew).

Madeleine Joy
Madeleine Jade

Is it OK that you're ditching granny drew?

Too cutesy. Not a professional name.

She can use Madeleine in a professional context.

OP isn't seeking opinions on the first name.

Hi, Op

I love the name Madeleine as it is my daughter's name ( she's 17) She only goes by Madeleine. Another suggestion for a middle J name is

Joanne, Jade, Jessica, Jocelyn, Joan, Josie or Josephine, Juno or June, Jill, Johanna

Good luck and congratulations!

Julia is beautiful and classic.

Alternatively what was her Hebrew name?
