In the last year? I don't remember when but we got hit with the Target hack and Home Depot hack. I also found a suspicious $400 charge on my card once from walmart which was NOT us. That one was actually investigated a bit. Found a Netflix charge on my card a few years back that also required new cards. Have also gotten one or two emails from USAA directly telling us we were compromised but not sure how. More new cards. Once it was twice in the same year. It's so annoying.
I have also been informed by my brother who works for the government that my SSN was probably also compromised in the OPM hack given that our SSN's are all listed with his since we are his family members. Fun times. |

My actual credit card number was stolen once, first time ever. Wells Fargo caught it immediately, reversed the charges, and cancelled the card. Minimal hassle.
Then I had information stolen in the Anthem hack, and something also with the CareFirst website, That plus the earlier breach at UMD a couple of years ago and I have two credit-monitoring services being paid for by UMD and Anthem, and I've frozen all my credit reports. |
| Zero. I have 7 cards and several copies of the cards and also numbers saved online when I make purchases. It might be coming to me... |

I think it was 5 or 6 times with Chase United. Probably 10x since Target breach. Twice with chip cards this year immediately after they sent out, so I find it very fishy. That is our only card for 15+ years, and now we are branching out, especially because they haven't been handling it well. They wait for us to call once they cancel it. Hello? Don't you want us to keep using it?! DH is United GS and we have all our home and business stuff on it.
In fact, was going to post on here, what are some good cards? |
