Why is Netflix organized so poorly?

This. It's not Netflix as much as the device using to access it. Devices like roku or Firestick constantly update their apps. My Samsung smart TV has a horrible format whereas the Firestick is amazing. When I don't have access to my Firestick I just browse through the Netflix on my phone to find what I want to watch then watch on TV.

So interesting, is that why Amazon Prime is so terrible on my Vizio TV? It shows up on about 1/3 of the left side of the screen with tiny little images of the movie, even when you select the tiny image the title of the movie is so small it is barely readable. I look for titles on my computer & then use the search on the TV to pull it up.

I have cable with premium channels, Hulu, and Netflix. DH and I are stunned by the lack of good shows and movies. Organized shit is still shit. There is just so little good scripted TV. And movies? Don't even get me started! I suffered through Interstellar after so many people raved about it. It was Hollywood trying to do string theory. PAINFUL!

+ a million.

With Hulu, the genres make sense and you can sort when items are added, which you can't do on Amazon Prime or Netflix.

Netflix and Amazon include ridiculously stupid sub-breakdowns of genres. Like on Amazon, Mysteries and Thrillers list "somber" and "bleak." And the difference would be?They are poorly organized, so you don't realize that you're paying money for how little is actually is on there.

I can't imagine complaining about the lack of good scripted TV these days, esp if you have premium channels and Netflix! Granted, a lot of good stuff is on Amason, but still. There are almost too many good choices.

I'm not a huge Amazon prime fan but I love their original series (Hand of God, Transparent, and Alpha House). It also has great shows and movies for kids. For me, I look at it as a huge bonus as I consider it free being that I would pay for Amazon Prime just for the shopping anyhow.
